Diamond Days by Mary Black. I have written this song For you to take with you When you go away Something to sing and slowly swing to On your colder days I have made a start With a verse and a Chorus The rest I leave to you And when next I see your smiling face We might sing it right through I'll be your sweetheart always And I'll love the memories of the Diamond Days I'll keep a candle burning.

May 30,  · Without the Fanfare is mildly pretty but nothing special. The real highlights of this album: Nighttime is a great mix of her jazzy pop style, moving from slow rich tones to more upbeat sing-along parts. The Crow on the Cradle is possibly my favorite Mary Black piece, a rich taste of tradition and folklore. Beautiful/5(9).

Mary Black Main Releases: Without The Fanfare. This was the album that heralded Mary's transition from singing purely traditional and roots-based songs to tackling a broader range of material.

Without the Fanfare finds Mary Black moving firmly into a folk-rock mode, sliding just a bit too smoothly through a program that could have been designed for Richard & Linda Thompson or maybe Clive Gregson & Christine learnlanddisptalkremen.lentiningmictagendliconuttiazuri.infoinfo sound is consistently low-key and shimmery, with oh-so-tasteful synthesizers flowing silkily under trebly guitars and gently percolating percussion.4/
